Having always wanted to fly I’m currently training for my microlight pilot’s licence.

I started back in 2008 training on a flexwing at Chiltern Park. However in 2009 my instructor quit, not due to my poor flying I should add, and I joined the Light Sport Flying Club  based at Wycombe Air Park, under the excellent instruction of Steve Pike (School Owner and CFI) and Nick Morrison (AFI).

Everything is going well and I think I’ve adapted well to the new type of aircraft. I’m certainly enjoying flying the Eurostar - my concerns that it would not feel as exciting as the flexwing were unfounded - and I own a part share in the aircraft I’m training on (G-CETT).

I’ve now flown solo for the first time! Amazing feeling and have since completed over 7 hours of solo flight. I’ve also started the cross-country section of the training so I’m going for my full licence rather than the restricted one.
